I am ADDICTED to Pinterest! I love LOVE that site. We have done so many things from there and plans for many more! Heres a few that we did recently...
Homemade glitter...this recipe called for 1/2 cup salt & a little food coloring, mix together and bake for 10 minutes. Next time I want to try the other one with sugar instead of salt.
Keldan all proud of making it :) |
The boy's glittering up their pictures :) |
We also made the Kool-Aid play-doh. I don't have to freak out when Lucas decides he needs a snack ;)
Lucas all excited to play with it, doesn't get to play with the store bought because he gets too hungry ;) |
We also made Jellyfish. Lucas loved this way more than Keldan.
A plastic bag (I didn't have a clear one so we used a walmart one), water, food coloring, thread, scissors, & bottle (of course we needed two) |
Cut the handles off & cut the sides and bottom to make two pieces (one piece per jellyfish) |
Make little heads & tie thread around it (not too tight so you can add water), then cut the tentacles at the bottom. |
Keldan with his jellyfish |
Lucas with his |
Then add water to the bottle with a drop or two of food coloring. Pour water in the jellyfish's head and stuff him in the bottle. Then watch what happens. |
Lucas kept trying to get him to go to the bottom. |
Video of our jelly fish
Ocean & Tornado
Ocean: 1/2 water, 1/3 oil, blue food coloring. Then roll it around and make waves |
Tornado: water, glitter, and a little clothes detergent |
Our tornado didn't turn out the best (can't use homemade glitter ;) ), but I explained to them what happens. |
Tornado on the left & ocean on the right |
Learning about static electricity
Tear tissue paper into smaller pieces and put in the bottle |
Rub it on your head and see what happens... |
It stuck to the side |
They loved this one ;) maybe because they could rub on each others heads. |
Our sensory bottles so far...need more bottles so we can make more ;) |
