Our big home project this year is our front porch. There was carpet, which was nasty, and after the winter from Joe shoveling snow off, it had begun ripping apart. It looked really bad, so we knew we had to tackle that. We actually were expecting to redo the whole thing, but after pulling carpet off we realized the top part was not bad, just the steps were needing some help. So Joe, with help from his 2 brothers & my dad, were going to do them. Between sledge hammer & jack hammer they removed the old steps. My uncle had a cement mixer that we had borrowed to use for the steps, but after pricing the cement and a call to an actual concrete place, we realized it would be cheaper to hire someone to do it. Joe called Monday to get an estimate & by Thursday we had new steps. We were surprised how quick they were able to get to us but so thankful! They did an amazing job. They even ended up taking the slab in front of the steps out as well & redoing it. So pleased with the ending result. We are planning on painting it all in July so the steps match the rest of the porch.
Ugly & falling apart!
