Could It Be Colic?

Soon after we brought the bundle of joy home I had noticed that he was a little constipated and he would get painful gas. At his next check up I told his doctor and she said to keep track and that we should give him apple juice (I do not recommend this!). It seemed to get better for a few days then got worse so we tried Similac Sensitive. At his 1 mth check up we told the doctor that we tried a different formula (it was only maybe a week). She said to give it another week, if we didn't see any changes to try the Isomil which is soy based and let her know. In the mean time we took him to see Rusty which is where we found out that the apple juice was not a good choice. Apple Juice = Citric Acid. He told us to try the Dan Active, just a tbsp in a bottle a day. Which seemed to help. He also started to get the symptoms of reflux, which Rusty had seen and was sure of it too. I tried home remedies such as sitting up during feeding and 30 min afterwards. We gave him the gas drops. Fed him little amounts more frequent. Put him in his car seat. Rusty did treatments on him which seemed to work for a little but then went back to being sick, which was obvious that the formula was still not correct. We took him to R before vacation, the treatment lasted all week!

Then came Mondy and he was really swallowing, screaming, and constipated again. Yea its been fun! We took him to the doctor Wed. She said he seems to have a mild (since he doesn't spit up that often) case of reflux. She feels the formula is not correct yet. So we left with yet another new one, Enfamil Nutramigen (which is for colic/fussiness/not sleeping), and told us to give this a try for a week. She also said to keep him propped up at all times. His stool is getting better, still not completely normal and its sometimes painful for him. The reflux and stomach aches are still pretty bad.

Please be praying for the little guy (and us!). Its been stressful for me too, I can tell hes in pain and it breaks my heart. I know I need to be strong for him though. Joe has been helping me tremendously giving me breaks. Pray that he will continue to have patience with him. I know sometimes its kind of hard when nothing seems to calm him down and he is just screaming at the top of his lungs. He doesn't deserve to be in that much pain!!! If anyone has any advice please leave a comment. Just keep us in your prayers! We really appreciate it!
