Baby Shower

Danielle, Stacy, and Gwen had the Hamsher/Kandel shower before Keldan was born. Since it was posted on the Hamsher blog, I will just put a few pictures. It was fun and Keldan got a lot of goodies!

A week after he was born, Annette, Debbie, Grandma, and my mom had the Welsch/Ruegsegger shower. It was a lot of fun too and Keldan recieved some wonderful things! He slept the whole time.

The theme was duckies. It was so cute. They played baby bingo and the person with a dirty diaper won a prize. My aunt Deb made the cake. It was yummy!

My cousins Holly and April were helping me out!

I was so glad my friend Michelle and her husband were able to make it from NC. I had a surprise visit from Monica. She was my cheerleading coach in high school.

My Bathrobes

After baths, I usually dress Keldan in a robe. He absolutely loves them! I think he looks so adorable too.

Bath Time

Keldan's first bath did not go like I thought it would. He cried and cried. Joe helped me, don't think I could of done it myself. It was new to both of us. We some how accomplished it!
He doesn't know what's about to happen!

Joe filling up the tub.

Already not happy!

He loved his towel though.

The baths are much better now, he doesn't cry usually. We figured out that afternoons are the best time right after his bottle. His first bath was definitely an adventure!

More Visitors

We had to stay at the hospital for 2 LONG days. We were ready to get home! Joe was able to take off the following 2 weeks, which was so awesome. I'm very proud of him. He helped me out tremendously! It was nice, in the morning it would just be us (getting adjusted to him) then usually in the evening visitors would come which gave us a little break. Here are some pics of family and friends holding Keldan. We had a lot more visitors, just didn't get pictures!

Welcoming Keldan

The grandparents, aunts, and uncles waited for his arrival. We were so excited that they were there to enjoy this special time with us. Joe and I are so greatful to have family that are very helpful and supportive.

Hospital

Sorry we have not posted lately. It's been a little busy! I will sum up that wonderful day Keldan was born.
We had to be at the hospital at 7:30 am on Thursday, May 29th. The nurse checked me in and started the IV and monitors. They induced me at 9:30 am. I was already having contractions about 3 to 4 minutes. Around noon the nurse came in to do the epidural, the contractions were starting to get a little more ouchy. I was only allowed ice chips and popsicles, which surprisingly satisfied me.

After maybe an hour of pushing Keldan James was born at 8:13 pm. I was surprised I did not have any pain at all! I cried, it was the most amazing experience. Joe was the best supporter I could of asked for!!

We appreciated all the prayers. Thank you!
